By using this website, scheduling a pick-up, or sending us a rug for service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or our services.

1. Who we are

Fred Remmers Rug Cleaners is a family-owned business operating since 1881, providing rug cleaning, repair, appraisal, storage, and related services. Our headquarters is in Memphis, Tennessee, with active service areas in Nashville, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and Dallas.

2. Service area and pick-up

We provide free pick-up and delivery within our published service areas. Outside those areas, shipping arrangements can be made at the customer's expense. Pick-up appointments are confirmed by our office. Appointments scheduled after business hours will be confirmed on the next business day. We reserve the right to reschedule pick-ups in the event of weather, vehicle breakdown, staff availability, or other circumstances reasonably beyond our control.

3. Estimates and pricing

Online and over-the-phone estimates are approximate. Final pricing is determined after we inspect the rug at our workshop, where we can assess fiber, dye stability, structural condition, soil level, stains, prior repairs, and any other factors that affect the work. We will provide a final estimate before performing any work that exceeds the original quote, and we will not proceed without your authorization.

4. Service turnaround

Standard cleaning typically takes one to three weeks; repair and restoration may take longer depending on complexity and material availability. We will give you a reasonable estimate of turnaround when we receive the rug. We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to supplier delays, holidays, severe weather, or facility issues.

5. Inspection and condition

We inspect each rug at pick-up and again at our workshop. We will report any pre-existing damage, weakness, dye instability, or condition issues we observe. By engaging our services, you acknowledge that older or damaged rugs may have hidden weaknesses that can become apparent during cleaning or repair, and that we are not responsible for revealing such pre-existing conditions in the course of normal, careful work.

6. Payment

Payment is due upon delivery of the completed rug unless other arrangements have been agreed to in writing. We accept most major payment methods. Rugs not paid for and not picked up within 90 days of completion may be subject to storage fees. After extended non-payment, we reserve the right, to the extent permitted by law, to dispose of the rug to recover the unpaid amount.

7. Storage

We offer climate-controlled storage. Storage fees, length of contract, and access conditions are agreed to in writing at the start of any storage arrangement. We are not responsible for damage caused by acts of God, fire, flood, vermin (where the rug was not pre-treated), or other events beyond our reasonable control.

8. Limitation of liability

We take exceptional care with every rug. Despite this, accidents and unexpected outcomes can occasionally happen. Our maximum liability for loss or damage to a rug while in our care is limited to the lesser of (a) the documented fair-market value of the rug at the time of intake, or (b) ten times the cost of the service performed. For appraised rugs, the appraised value will be used. We do not insure against fluctuating market values or sentimental value. Customers who require coverage above these limits should arrange their own insurance.

9. Refunds and re-cleaning

If you are unsatisfied with our work, contact us within 14 days of delivery. We will inspect the rug and, if appropriate, re-clean or otherwise correct the issue at no additional charge. Refunds are issued at our discretion and only after the rug has been inspected.

10. Website use

The content of this website — text, photographs, graphics, logos, and design — is owned by Fred Remmers Rug Cleaners or used with permission. You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial reference. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, or use any of this content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent.

11. Third-party tools

We use Jobber to handle scheduling and customer management. By using forms on this site, you agree to Jobber's terms of service in addition to these terms. We may also use other third-party tools for analytics, payments, and communications.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Shelby County, Tennessee.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions periodically. The effective date at the top will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of the website or our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
