For rugs with split foundations, broken selvedges, or torn ends — structural repair before the damage spreads.
The selvedge is the long edge of a rug, finished by wrapping the warp threads with a contrasting yarn. When it breaks, the foundation begins to unravel. Selvedge repair re-secures the edge and stops the damage.
The two short ends are where fringes meet the rug body. End damage shows as missing pile near the fringes or fraying knots. We rebuild the structural threads first, then re-stitch the surface.
Foundation damage spreads. A small split today is a large hole in six months. Fixed early, the repair is fast and inexpensive — fixed late, it becomes a reweave.
