Hand reweaving of holes, worn areas, and missing pile — wool, dye, and knot type matched to the original.
A weaver studies the surrounding pattern, matches wool from our stock by color and luster, and reconstructs the missing knots one at a time. The same knot style as the original — Persian, Turkish, or otherwise — is used. Done correctly, the repair is invisible from the front.
A small reweave takes a few days. A complex one, especially in a finely-knotted silk or fine-wool rug, can take weeks. We quote both timeline and price after inspection — you decide before any work begins.
Most rugs are worth reweaving. The ones that are not, we will tell you honestly. We would rather decline a repair than charge for one that does not pay back.
